These Luxury SUVs Have the Best Resale Values for 2021
It remains forever irksome to most car owners how much new vehicles depreciate in their first few years. An estimated 20 percent of a new car's value is shed in its first year alone, and by the fifth year, that percentage grows to an average of 47.6 percent. It's enough to make a person want to buy used.

The solution might be to drop your hard-earned coin on vehicles you know won't depreciate as much as the rest. And if you're in the market for a luxury SUV, these half dozen entries are ahead of the curve in retaining their resale values.

We worked with IntelliChoice to compile this short list based on projections of value after five years of ownership. The list includes compact and midsize crossovers from premium brands, mostly mall crawlers but a few with additional competence. The entry with the greatest retained value beat the five-year average by more than 10 percent. Read on to find out which luxury SUV took the No. 1 spot.
